The Metaphysics of Bears

If Night is a Substance
then bears are its Accidents.
of Night we predicate
darkness, stars, repose,
but also bears.
as smoke is to fire,
as splinters to ice,
so bears are to Night:
inseparable
if not in thought,
in point of fact.
